I will be running a mini-class on how to create digital surveys next Tuesday, 10/21 from 3:45 to 4:15 in Severance 21. The session will show you how you can eliminate the use of paper from the data collection process. If you loath paper surveys as much as I do, this is the class for you.

If you plan on attending the session please let me know by next Monday afternoon.

Meeting Times

The next Tech Integration meetings will take place next Tuesday (2/19) and Thursday (2/21) in the Library Media Room. Tuesday’s meeting will run from 7-7:30am and Thursday’s will run from 3:30-4pm. We’ll be covering the same information at each meeting so you only need to attend one.

Here’s a recording of Thursday’s tech meeting. The sound is synced to the slide show so the slides will change by themselves at the appropriate times. You can also jump around from slide to slide and the audio will jump along with you. Keep in mind you can zoom in on any slide by hitting the full screen button in the bottom right area of the video box. You need to click on the pause icon looking button to start the presentation. If you’re on a slower internet connection, the presentation might take a while to load. If it’s taking too long, try viewing the slides-only presentation right here. (Yah, I know I need to talk slower ;))

Intro Meeting Outline

Here’s the general outline of what I’ll be presenting on Thursday:

1) Themes: You don’t know what you don’t know and anything is possible.

2) Immediate goals: Create a wide-ranging community, maximize how we use what we already have, and be transparent from day 1.

3) What now: Follow the “Get Involved” steps, start playing NOW, and designate project leaders.

4) What next: Craft policy recommendations and identify big-ticket requests based on our real-world research.

The SJA tech revolution has begun.

If you’d like to be involved, plan on attending one of the following introductory meetings:

Thursday, 1/24, 7-7:30am
Thursday, 1/24, 3:30-4pm
NOTE: Both meetings are now in Thursday.

Both meetings will be held in the Library media room. We will be focusing on the new Academics Manager as well as several other tools that are now available.
