I’ve started my first voicethread of the year-a “Campus Tour” project inspired by Chinese teacher Amy Huang. I’ve done this project before, but this year I can’t remember how I’ve found a good way in the past for every student to contribute slides to the same voicethread at the same time. I don’t just want them to comment on each other’s slides, but actually create their own slides that are all part of the same vociethread. I’ve got them all signed into the same account, but the problem with this is only one student can be signed in at once, so we are progressing slowly. I wish I could assign this sort of project for homework, but we still have a lot of students who do not have microphones on their home computers.
Our mobile language lab headphones are showing a lot of wear and tear. We also continue to have the annoying issue of needing a tiny, easy-to-lose adaptor for these headhones to use them with the macbooks. Josh Seamon suggested we move to usb headphones which will eliminate the need for an adaptor.
We’ve started to roll out Rosetta Stone subscriptions to language students in need of remediation. I’m excited to hear feedback from these students about how they like the product. I also need to test it out myself…as a Spanish learner!

Here’s how you can let other people edit (add slides) to one of your Voicethreads:
https://voicethread.com/support/howto/Groups_and_Sharing/How_do_I_let_another_person_edit_a_VoiceThread_I_created/
You can allow other VoiceThread members to edit your VoiceThread by following these steps:
Go to your MyVoice page.
Click the gear menu icon in the corner of your VoiceThread thumbnail.
Select Share.
Click on the person’s name in your list of Contacts.
Click the pencil icon so it is highlighted yellow.
