My task for Josh’s committee is using Flip Cameras and iMovie to create and share student work.
I recorded my q1 midterm orals for all my classes, and uploaded these videos to the macbook. Josh showed me software that would compress the files (“handbrake”) so that I can upload them to the internet more easily. My goal is to get them all uploaded to vimeo, to ask each student to watch their own video and comment on it in French, and perhaps have each students’ parent/guardian watch the videos and comment as well.
I’m not sure where I am going to find the time to compress all the files and get them uploaded, however.
We are working on a major unrelated project for November 12. Once that project is over, I will hopefully have more time to focus on video.
My long-term goal for my French 4 classes (after November 12 to the end of Q2) is to develop a class-wide project to write and record their own short films.
I saw a demo when I was in NYC with an Apple rep where he contorted the mac so that the camera above the screen was pointing at a note book and could then use it like an ” overhead” projector. Does anyone know what the function is that allows me to keep the camera on? Has anyone designed a stand to hold the pc
